Link/Larry Linkogle is known internationally as an industry personality for his mix of humor and attitude. Disillusioned with the motocross industry, he invited friends Trigger Gumm and Nathan Fletcher to form a group of motocross riders calling themselves “Metal Mulisha”. That is how it all began. “We identified ourselves by displaying the Metal Mulisha name on our motorcycles written with permanent marker and spray painted with stencils.” Link remains owner of Metal Mulisha. In 1996 Link gave birth to the Freestyle Motocross sport by developing the Metal Mulisha Compound, headquarters of the Freestyle counter culture movement. The recognition of the Metal Mulisha name grew rapidly as public interest in Freestyle Motocross as an extreme sport developed. Link, Trigger Gumm and Nathan Fletcher performed in freestyle motocross events as members of the Metal Mulisha. The Metal Mulisha Compound was the setting for several early freestyle motocross videos featuring jumps and stunts performed by the riders and the sport became increasingly popular as interest rapidly grew. If not for Larry Link Linkogle, Mickey Dymond, Brian Manley, Mike Metzger and Johnny Airtime, there would be no freestyle sport to this day. In 1997 Link wins the First Freestyle Motocross Contest in Castaic Lake put on by Shane Trettler. Larry Linkogle known as the most extreme stuntman ever to be on a motorcycle as seen in the movie Triple XXX as Vin Diesel’s double several times throughout the movie. Link/Larry in 2002 was also voted the most popular extreme natural terrain rider in the world by Fox Sports/Blue Torch TV during the 2002 Moto Survival Tour. May 14, 2005 daredevil Larry Link Linkogle sets the World’s Longest Distance Jump record on his stock KTM 250 recorded by the Guinness Book of World Records in Queensland, Australia. May 2006, watch for Link on the Discovery Channel “Biker Build-off” with best friend Mike Metzger, Godfather of Freestyle Motocross.
